My Favorites Things

Books    Movies    Actors    Actresses    TV Shows    Music    Sports Teams    Pets

My favorite things (and people) number in the thousands, maybe even millions. It would be impossible to list them all, but here are a few of my favorite favorite things

Books...

My all time favorites, ones I've read over and over again.

Book Cover: "A Knight in Shining Armor" by Jude DeverauxA Knight in Shining Armor
-- Jude Deveraux
The best hero of all time: Nicholas Stafford; the only other hero to come close, in my opinion, is Morgan "Black Heart" Farrell, the pirate in my time travel, LOOKING FOR A HERO.

The Black Lyon
-- Jude Deveraux
Be still my heart.

The Mummy (or Ramses the Damned)
-- Anne Rice
Haunting, sensual, and oh-so-romantic.

Rebecca
-- Daphne Du Maurier
"Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again…" Maxim DeWinter--he's not your everyday hero, but there's something rather sexy about a brooding Englishman. Think I'll go read it again!

Movies...Movie Poster: "Rebecca"

Rebecca
The original with Sir Lawrence Olivier, of course. But there has never been a version I haven't loved.

Notorious
Cary Grant, need I say more!

Jane Eyre
Ah, the romance. Sigh.

Wuthering Heights
The original with Sir Lawrence Olivier, of course!

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Harrison Ford at his finest, and that's very fine indeed.

Funny Girl
"Nicky Arnstein, Nicky Arnstein, what a beautiful, beautiful name."
And Omar Sharif. Yum!

Beauty and the Beast
Romance at its best. Another sigh.

Actors...Photo: Errol Flynn

Cary Grant may be my all-time fave, but all of these actors are yummy, sexy, exciting, adventurous and just plain wonderful.

Cary Grant

Jimmy Stewart

Rock Hudson

Errol Flynn
That's his picture and he's the spitting image of
Trevor Montgomery, the hero in IF I CAN'T HAVE YOU.

Tyrone Power

Danny Kaye

Harrison Ford

George Clooney

Actresses...Picture: Ingrid Bergman & Cary Grant from Notorious

Whether they're singing, dancing, making me laugh or cry, they're fabulous, and they've brought tons of joy into my life.

Kathrine Hepburn

Ingrid Bergman

Shirley Temple

TV Shows...Photo from Law & Order

I watch way too much, but these shows and many others spark my creativity.

Law and Order (I'm addicted; I miss Jerry Orbach)

Amazing Race

Midsomer Murders

Music...Picture: Beauty and the Beast Soundtrack

Oldies but Goodies, opera, and Disney soundtracks. It's a crazy mix, but the words and music fill me with inspiration.

House of the Rising Sun
-- The Animals

Anything by:
Elvis Presley, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, the Dave Clark Five, Marty Robbins, Roy Orbison,
and the Rolling Stones.
(I'm obviously a child of the 60s!)

Operas:  LaBoheme, Turandot, Carmen and, of course, Jose Carreras

Sports Teams...
The Sacramento Kings!!!
The absolute greatest in basketball.

Pets...

A big, fluffy, and oh-so-lovable Bernese Mountain Dog.
This is my puppy; his name is Barkley.  (He is a lot bigger now!)
